As a member of the 2009 Christmas Challenge blog I will be cross-stitching one holiday ornament during each month of 2009. I will combine this challenge with my on-going work of designing stars for The Americana Stars Memorial, a 200 foot long, all hand cross-stitched 9/11 remembrance piece. Each month I will design a new ornament using at least one star design from the Americana Stars collection. For my February ornament I used four different stars and polled members of the Challenge blog to vote for their favorite star to be released to the public. The winning cross-stitch design below is my first Free Star Design.

I have not released any of the Americana Stars designs to the public before but in an effort to raise funds for the memorial project, I have decided to release future monthly designs as 'donation ware'. Monthly star designs are available for a donation of $5 each to The Americana Stars Memorial. All donations can make a difference!

February will remain free, of course, and is available in .pdf format by clicking on the star image below.
